    Description: 
    The memorial is a tall rectangular granite monument with a rectangular bronze relief plaque depicting an allegorical female figure in classical dress. She stands holding a shield in her proper right hand and a wreath and palm fronds in her raised proper left hand. Laurel leaves frame the sides of the figure. At the base of the memorial there are three steps.
