Remarks:
Sculpture is an enlarged copy of the figure on the Emmy award which is given to television actors. Johansen was the principal supervising sculptor at the Wasatch Bronzeworks where the sculpture was cast. In 1948 Louis McManus designed the original "Emmy" which was modelled on his wife. The name Emmy was the feminized version of "Immy", the nickname for the image orthican camera tube used in the technical development of television. IAS files contain copy of related article from "The Universal City - North Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Business Report", May 1990, pg. 1, 3.
