Description:
A bust of Pennsylvania Governor Andrew Gregg Curtin wearing an open, lapelled jacket, a vest, and a bow tie. The bust is mounted on top of tall column with an inscribed front and a wreath-like decoration around the top.

Remarks:
Erected by the State of Pennsylvania for $6,250. Commemorates Andrew Gregg Curtin, governor of Pennsylvania from 1861 to 1867. SOS! surveyor could not read artist's signature because of height of bust. The American Monuments and Outdoor Sculpture Database lists the artist as McKenzie. The monument is on the National Park Service List of Classified Structures (LCS no. 03308). IAS files contain a copy of the LCS report form. Cost $6,250 paid by Pennsylvania.
