One of four artworks created with four artist-teachers who collaborated with students. The artworks were funded by many Detroit organizations including the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, ArtServe Michigan, Department of Recreation of the City of Detroit, Detroit Public Schools, Barton Malow Company, Outdoor Systems, and Disenos Ornamental Iron. Expanding Passage was created with the assistance of students from Western International High School.
