    Description: 
    Two identical sphinxes of a recumbent lion with a man's head, placed about thirty feet apart. They rest on their haunches with proper left front paw curled in toward the proper right extended paw. Their tails curve to the proper right. The heads are covered by an Egyptian headdress with laps that extend down both sides of the face to the breast. The sculptures are placed atop rectangular beige bases.

    Remarks: 
    The sculptures are replicas of originals designed by C. C. McDougal for the Egyptian Museum circa 1894. The originals were placed in the same location in 1894 at the Midwinter Fair.
