Description:
A standing portrait of Christopher Columbus with his arms folded in front of him. In his proper left hand he hold an unfurled scroll. A sword hangs from his belt on his proper left side. Behind his proper right foot is a globe and behind his proper left foot a rope-covered pier. The sculpture is mounted on a large, square base that is surrounded by four granite bollards with iron rings attached to the sides.

Remarks:
The sculpture was erected by the Friends of Christopher Columbus Committee and was fabricated in Carrara, Italy. Inscriptions listing additional donor names appear on the four bollards surround the base.
