Remarks:
The Palace of Fine Arts, constructed originally by the architect Bernard Maybeck in 1915 for the Panama Pacific International Exposition, had been made primarily of plaster and had deteriorated over the years. In 1965 the old palace was removed and work began on reconstructing a replica version. As part of this rebuilding, the artist recreated all the sculpture, bas-relief and columns in cast stone.
