    Description: 
    A twenty-seven times larger-than-life replica of the very large Dynastees Hercules Beetle from the West Indies, with its jaws open. The beetle is colored in browns and black, and is supported off the ground by poles. It once had legs.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was originally designed for a bug museum and center in Wicky-Washy Springs, Florida. It was moved to its present location in 1964. The owner has remained the same. It was created in Florida and built to withstand Florida hurricanes. The legs have been torn off so many times by vandals that they are no longer reattached.
