IAS files contain a partial transcription of names on plaque. The rock for the sculpture was already in the Lake. Danish Brotherhood Statue Fund helped to finance the sculpture. The Sons of Norway and the Golden KII Kiwanis assisted with the project. Matson Crane Service installed the sculpture. The sculpture was inspired by Denmark's story of the "Little Mermaid."
