    Description: 
    Abstract sculpture consisting of five pieces installed in a row at sixteen foot intervals. Each of the five pieces is made of two vertical wooden slats (2 x 4 in. wide) installed in the ground a couple of feet apart. Seven horizontal slats (2 x 2 in. wide) are attached on each side of the horizontal pair. The horizontal slats are attached diagonally to form a zig-zag pattern between each vertical slat. The vertical slats are painted solid black and the horizontal slats are painted with geometric designs in primary colors.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was created by student at the J. D. Dickerson Primary School under the direction of artist in residence, Jeff Mather. Shop students at Vidalia Comprehensive High School cut the wooden slats for use by the elementary school children. IAS files contain related articles from the ORCA Matters Newsletter of the Ohoopee Regional Council for the Arts, (Oct.-Dec. 1993), pg. 2 and from The Advance Progress (Vidalia, GA), Dec. 23, 1992, pg. 2a, which discusses how the artist worked with the elementary school children to create the sculpture.
