Description:
Granite marker featuring the sandblasted images of a male and female soldier. Each stands in profile; the male on the left and the female on the right, facing center. They wear uniforms and are depicted from the knees up. An American flag is etched at the top of the marker. The grey granite marker stands on a low granite base. The outer edges of the base are rough-hewn.

Funds for the monument were raised through community donations. The monument was sponsored by VFW Auxiliary and Post 369 and carved from Rock of Ages Regal Gray Granite (Barre, Vermont). IAS files contain copy of related articles from Independent Mirror, Nov. 8, 1989 and Nov. 22, 1989.
