Two bas-reliefs, each a full-length profile of a woman kneeling, wearing a full-length dress and barefoot. One figure represents the muse of music. She rests her proper right knee on the ground, but her left knee is raised to support a lyre which she holds in her proper left hand. She strums the lyre with her right hand. The other figure represents the muse of drama. Her proper left knee rests on the ground and her right knee is raised. Her proper left arm is at her side and she holds the mask of tragedy in that hand. Her proper right arm rests on her thigh, but her forearm is raised and she holds the mask of comedy in that hand. The bas-reliefs are mounted on the walls of a band shell.
