Description:
Two young men dressed in overalls walk side by side on their way to Fort Wayne's Aqueduct for a swim. The sculpture rests atop a large square base adorned with two bronze plaques, one of which features a relief of the old Aqueduct.

Remarks:
The Old Aqueduct Club was formed on Nov. 29, 1912, by those who grew up in the west end of Fort Wayne and went swimming in the aqueduct over the St. Mary's River. The memorial was designed by one of the Old Aqueduct Club members, architect M. S. Mahurin. IAS files contain newspaper articles from the News Sentinel (Fort Wayne, IN), Aug. 3, 1983 and Dec. 27, 1923; and excerpt from Old Fort News, the journal of the Allen County Historical Society, (Oct.-Dec. 1957).
