H. 48 ft, x 8 x 4 ft.; Base: approx. 15 x 6 x 4 feet. Inscription:  (On east face of base:) IN HONOR OF HENRY CLAY./THIS MONUMENT IS ERECTED/BY THE CITIZENS OF SCHUYLKILL COUNTY/AND BEQUEATHED TO THEIR CHILDREN./A RECORD OF GRATITUDE/FOR HIS ILLUSTRIOUS SERVICES WHICH BROUGHT/PEACE, PROSPERITY AND GLORY TO HIS COUNTRY./A TRIBUTE OF ADMIRATION/FOR THE VIRTUES WHICH ADORNED A USEFUL LIFE, AND WON FOR HIS IMPERISHABLE NAME THE/RESPECT AND AFFECTION OF MANKIND.
