Inscription:  unsigned Description:  A wall of blocks pierced by two portals, on either side of which are granite shelves for wreaths, flowers, or candles. Words are engraved on the blocks. The words, which are meant to express the impact of the war on individual lives, are taken from letters, diaries, poems, and news dispatches.
