Description:
A series of gargoyles mounted on the brick walls at the top of downspouts and along the roof of the Zachary Scott Theatre Center. The gargoyles are all a buff/gray neutral color. Each gargoyle depicts a character from the theatrical professions, including a playwright, a set designer, a stage manager, actors, patrons, etc.

Remarks:
IAS files contain related article from Austin American-Statesman Sept. 19, 1990, sect. F, pg. 1. Gargoyles were conceived by Girard Kinney, of KKSC architects, and created by Stephen Ray with the help of Marsha Miller, Rene Oliver and Bonnie Lynch. The gargoyles are being "adopted" by theater supporters at a cost of $1,500 each. IAS files contain listing and description of seventeen completed gargoyles, including two installed indoors in the Theatre restrooms.
