    Remarks:
The memorial was originally dedicated in 1949 with a silver-painted wooden eagle in place. A cast aluminum replacement of the same design was made and installed ca. 1951, replacing the wooden sculpture. Stevens was responsible for the design of the memorial and the execution of both eagles. Brewer was contracted to construct the memorial. He was assisted by volunteer and paid labor.
