Description:
Several bronze figures are arranged around cast concrete uprights on the base. A central female figure represents a spiritual presence in passage through time, the future, rising from the land, the wind, the grasses, and the water. She is wearing a flowing cloth which she holds up at her chest with her proper left hand. Her proper right foot comes out from the cloth. Seated to her proper right are two Native American figures, a man and a child. The young Indian girl (modeled after Wohpe Claymore) represents warmth, sincerity and kindness. She wears an elk tooth dress, moccasins, and has seashells in her hair. The male Indian depicts strength and tradition. On the North side, a cowboy (modeled after the artist's father Oakley Lamphere) reflects the forerunner of today's businessman and rancher.
