    Description: 
    Mary stands barefoot, with the baby Jesus in her arms. She wears robes, a veil, a cloak clasped at the neck with a buckle and an elaborate crown. She holds Jesus in her proper left arm and has her proper right arm outstretched in front of her. Jesus is barefoot, he wears a long-sleeved, knee-length shift and an elaborate crown. Jesus has both arms spread out in front of him. The sculpture is mounted on a two-tiered base, set within a flower box.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was purchased from a religious supply house. The shrine was built by Linda Jacobs and Carla Bill, of Linda's Landscapers. The shrine was dedicated Sept. 15, 1988.
    Framed paper in the lobby of the nursing home reads: "Mount Carmel Shrine"; built "1987-1988"/shrine made by Linda Jacobs and Carla Bill of Linda's Landscapers statue donated by the Family of Eustache and Lumina Chomard the base, landscaping and walkway donated by others "Small stones around base of statue are from Mt. Carmel, Haifa, Israel." Other donors include the Noonans, Msgr. Dumas, Father Knott and Mrs. Helen Routhier. IAS files contain transcription of dedication text.
