Remarks:
The sculpture was sponsored by the City of Tampa, Art in Public Places Program, through a grant from the Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs. The project was a cooperative effort of the City and the Tampa Metropolitan YMCA. Form Shaping, Inc., fabricated the piece; P & H Stucco (Tarpon Springs) prepped and painted the wall; electrical work was done by Statewide Electrical Systems (Land-O-Lakes). The YMCA donated lighting with which to light the sculpture at night. IAS files contain press releases from the City of Tampa, May 24, 1995 and June 9, 1995 and an invitation to the dedication.
A nearby plaque reads: MOVEMENT IN SPACE/painted metal wall relief/ROSS LEWIS/Sponsored by the City of Tampa/Art in Public Places Program and/the Interbay Glover YMCA/1995. A second nearby plaque reads: Movement in Space is dedicated/to the memory of the Artist's/Grandparents./Lillian and Joe Rosenthal/This project is sponsored/in part by the Florida Dept./of State, (d)iv. of Cultural Affairs.
