YANTIS FAMILY/1976/THE SPIRE IS FABRICATED OF ALUMINUM AND IS 101 FEET HIGH unsigned Founder's mark appears. Description:  A tall spire that flares outward from the center in all four directions. The spire is painted with a smooth white epoxy. It is mounted on the front of a tall slab base. Night lighting is provided by mercury vapor spotlights. Yantis and family in memory of his late wife, Julia, who died January 9, 1975. The sculpture is meant to be a symbol of hope and faith to all who enter the institution. The spire was modeled after one atop Children's Hospital in Los Angeles and was fabricated by yacht builder, Robert Derecktor and Company. Larson & Wear installed the sculpture.
