Remarks:
The pavilion commemorates Artie Gregory, Jr., chairman of the City Beautiful Commission from 1977 until his death in 1990. The pavilion was dedicated on September 2, 1992, on the anniversary of his death. Gregory's family donated the material and paid a contractor to construct much of the pavilion. Memorial funds made to the City Beautiful Commission after Gregory's death also helped to fund the project. The pavilion was designed by Vince Poellot of the architectural design firm of Burt Taggart and Associates. Jim Long was the contractor for the rock work and Larry Dollar Roofing Company worked on the roof of the temple. IAS files contain a related article from The Times (North Little Rock, AR), Sept. 3, 1992, pg. 6A. IAS files also contain the designer's conceptualization sketches of the project.
