Description:
Two abstract figures of bears facing each other, heads and feet merging with one another. Between the bears, emerges a long thin stem with a tulip at the top. Sculpture is on a concrete foundation.

The emerging plant form spiraling upward between the two bears symbolizes the cycle of new life. Nearby plaque reads: GREEN BEAR/LEO LANKINEN VALTER SOINI/JULY 1992/DULUTH PUBLIC ARTS/AND SISTER CITIES COMMISSIONS/SCULPTURE EXCHANGE/PETROZAVODSK, RUSSIA.
