    Description: 
    Twenty-four terra cotta friar heads decorate the keystones above windows on the facade of a building. The friars wear hoods and have smiling faces. Each head is slightly different.

    Nearby plaque: "Old County Court House. This imposing building was designed by Albert C. Martin and built in 1912 as the Ventura County Courthouse. It is an outstanding example of Neo-Classical architecture considered the proper style for public buildings of the early 20th century. The courthouse was purchased by the City of Sanbuenaventura in 1971 for use the City Hall (sic). California registered Historical Landmark No. 847. Plaque placed by the State Department of Park and Recreation in cooperation with the City of Sanbuenaventura, December 29, 1973."
