According to Prof. Robert Irrmann, the portrait of Mrs. Helen Brace Emerson, wife of Prof. Joseph Emerson of Beloit College (1848-1900), was painted at Prof. Emerson's request by Elizabeth Krysher. Mrs. Emerson is wearing her wedding dress. She founded the Art Department of Beloit College, is originator of art collections, was Curator Art Hall 1900-1920, and is in the City of Beloit Hall of Fame.
