    Description:
Two wooden arbors on either side of a 22 foot square platform. Both arbors are planted with Tellman Honeysuckle. The platform between them is a symbolic threshing floor, which serves as a seating, performance and display area. Surrounding the arbor setting is a network of vine-like paths which connect entrance and exit of arbors, platform and park; and plantings indigenous to Spokane's sister cities: Julin City (China), Lubeck (West Germany), Makhuchkala (Soviet Union), Nishinomiya (Japan), and Limerick (Ireland).
The concept originates from the landscape, it inhabitants, its proximity to the International Trade Center and an agrarian history of trade and exploration. The arbors are representative of the first "agrarian house," an agrarian shed that is both passage and shelter. The trumpet shaped Asian-American hybrid honeysuckle flowers represent joy, abundance and generosity.
