Remarks:
The sculpture was donated to Corning Community College by the artist in honor of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kostka of Corning, and in tribute to all of the glassworkers in the area. The sculpture cost approximately $50,000. The college supplied the $5,000 foundation for the sculpture. United States Steel Corporation of Pittsburgh provided Cor-Ten steel for the project. Preliminary shaping and bending of the steel was performed by the American Bridge Company of Elmira Heights. The sculpture was welded by the artist and two assistants, John Paul and Chris Gale. The concrete foundation was installed by Kottwitz Construction Company of Corning.
