    Description: 
    A boy and a girl standing under an umbrella in front of low foliage. The boy stands in front wearing knee-length britches and is holding the umbrella square in front of him. The girl stands behind and to his proper right. She is wearing a bonnet. They stand on a two-stage round concrete base, faced with stones, which is mounted on a square concrete slab. A perimeter wrought-iron fence runs along the top edge of the slab.

    Remarks: 
    Inscription on a plaque in front of the piece reads: PRESENTED TO/THE TOWN OF SEYMOUR/BY THE SEYMOUR HISTORICAL SOCIETY/SEPTEMBER, 1985/THIS BEAUTIFUL FOUNTAIN STATUE/HAS BEEN RETURNED TO GRACE THE/PROPERTY THAT IT ONCE ADORNED/IT'S NICE TO BE BACK HOME.
    The land currently occupied by Town Hall was formerly the site of the John Howard home and garden. When the Town Hall was built, the statue was moved to a park, then the basement of a house, where it was rediscovered by the Seymour Historical Society and returned to its present site c. 1983. The umbrella was missing and was recreated by Witt Kemp.
