    Description: 
    Two bronze eagles, each set on top of a tall rough-hewn limestone pylon. The eagles are sitting, their wings slightly furled.

    Remarks: 
    The eagles and pylons flank the formal entrance to the park. The pylons were designed by Robert R. Stevens, who also commissioned the eagles, as part of the park's first major landscaping project in 1895. At that time, the park was called United States Hot Springs Reservation. The name was changed in 1921 to Hot Springs National Park. IAS files contain copy of related National Park Service correspondence.
