    Description: 
    Fountain sculpture featuring a flat black metal mesh spiral resting inside a circular blue-green ceramic fountain pool. Four cascading ceramic waterfalls direct water into the fountain pool. A polygon-shaped metal mesh enclosure stands to the the side of the fountain. The fountain is installed within a concrete amphitheater that is partially enclosed by a circular brick planter containing a ring of sour orange trees. A flagstone plaza surrounds the enitre installation.

    Remarks: 
    Funded with a National Endowment for the Arts, Art in Public Places grant of $45,000 given in 1986 to the City of Tempe. The total cost of the sculpture was $150,000. SOS! files contain copy of artist's line drawing of sculpture and detailed description of juried competition, selection process, and budget for project, which was funded by the City of Tempe and Hayden Square Associates. Michael W. Kelly, as project architect, coordinated site preparation and installation of the work.
