    Description: 
    A full-length male figure wearing the uniform of an Oklahoma Military Academy cadet. The World War II-era full dress uniform has flap pockets, a Sam Brown belt, a braid and medallion on the proper left breast pocket, scabbard on proper left hip, hat with the letters ROTC and cuffed trousers. The figure holds a saber in his proper right hand, tip end held up near his proper right shoulder. Tears of grief well in his proper right eye. The sculpture is placed atop a low circular base.

    Remarks: 
    Rogers University was formerly known as Rogers State College. Gift of the Rogers College Foundation to Rogers State College's Oklahoma Military Academy. Executed on campus when Yon Sim Park was artist-in-residence at the College. The figure was reportedly the inspiration for the poem "Lament of the Lone Cadet," by Andrew Doran McDonald Graham, 1990. IAS files contain excerpt from the "Guidebook to Rogers State College," and items from the vertical files of the University library.
