H. 6 ft.; Base: approx. 33 x 8 x 8 ft. (18 1/2 tons). Inscription:  unsigned Description:  A stone figure of a Civil War soldier stands atop a stone shaft. The shaft is adorned with a seal depicting crossed flags and sabres, a cartridge box and a laurel wreath. Above this is the Massachusetts state seal. The monument is surrounded by a wrought iron fence.
