    Description: 
    An abstract sculpture composed of two vertical granite triangles that symbolize America's involvement in the conflicts that took place in both Korea and Vietnam. The sculpture rests on a diamond-shaped granite base consisting of five steps, one for each branch of military service that took part in Korea and Vietnam. Two aluminum, bronze colored integral flag poles are installed, one on each side of the base.

    A gilded plaque located near the sculpture is adorned with small representations of both Korea and Vietnam, and contains the following inscription: THIS MONUMENT WAS DEDICATED NOVEMBER 11, 1984/IN RECOGNITION TO THOSE SERVICE VETERANS WHO/FOUGHT IN THE KOREAN AND VIETNAM WARS. THE MONUMENT DESIGN IS COMPOSED OF TWO/ELEMENTS; OPPOSING VERTICAL TRIANGULAR FORMS/RISING OUT OF STEPPED BASE SYMBOLICALLY/REPRESENTING AMERICA'S INVOLVEMENT IN THESE/TWO UNDECLARED WARS./
    THE BASE CONSISTS OF FIVE STEPS REPRESENTING/EACH BRANCH OF MILITARY SERVICE INVOLVED IN/BOTH WARS. IT WAS UPON THIS FOUNDATION OF/THEIR COMMITMENT AND SACRIFICE THAT WE AS A NATION WERE INVOLVED IN KOREA AND VIETNAM./THE VERTICAL TRIANGULAR FORMS REPRESENT THE/TWO WARS. THE ABRUPT VERTICAL EDGE OF/EACH FORM REFLECTS THE LACK OF RESOLUTION/IN EITHER CONFLICT. EACH EDGE OF THE VERTICAL/TRIANGLES IS ANGLED SHARPLY TO EMPHASIZE/CONFLICT.FOLLOWING THE LINE OF THE TOP EDGE/OF EACH TRIANGLE LEADS TO AN AMERICAN FLAG.ONE FOR EACH THEATRE./THIS MONUMENT IS CONSTRUCTED ENTIRELY OF/POLISHED RED GRANITE, A MATERIAL WHOSE PERMANENCE AND COLOR STAND AS TESTIMONY/TO THE DIGNITY OF THEIR SACRIFICE./FOR THOSE WHO SERVED/FOR THOSE WHO DIED/LEST WE FORGET./WORKING COMMITTEE:/(list of committee members).
