    Description: 
    Pylon featuring a frieze and a bronze star. The frieze is toward the bottom of the pylon and depicts a buffalo hunt and a pioneer wagon train. The star is at the top of the pylon and represents the lone star of Texas.

    Remarks: 
    W. Brown Fowler was the architect, and George Leighton Dahl the supervising architect, who designed the pylon. The frieze was designed by James Buchanan Winn, Jr. IAS files contain names of Park Board and Councilmen that appear on plaque on pylon, and excerpt from "A Guide to Fair Park Dallas," by Peggy Riddle, [Dallas:] Dallas Historical Society, 1983.
