    White concrete on gray concrete base.
    Dimensions: 
    12 animals. Each animal: approx. 15 ft. x 16 in. x 18 ft. 6 in.; Each base: approx. 3 ft. 2 in. x 6 ft. x 13 ft. 6 in. (14,000-25,000 lbs. each).

    (On a bronze plaque on the side of each base is the name of the donor of each sculpture.) unsigned
    Description: 
    Twelve animal sculptures arranged in matching pairs along the entryway to the zoo. The entryway is patterned after ancient Egyptian cities where matching sphinx statues were posted at city gates. The animals are flat silhouettes with minimal details depicted by incised lines. The matching pairs consist of alligators, apes, hippopotamuses, elephants, rhinoceroses, and lions. Each animal rests on a seperate rectangular base. The entire group is arranged on a 200 ft. square brick plaza.
