    Description: 
    Seated relief figure of Athena in helmet and warrior garb. Her head is turned to her proper right so that her face is seen in profile. Her proper right arm is draped over the back of the bench on which she is seated. Her proper left hand points to an open book which is on the bench next to her. A Latin inscription appears on either side of her head.

    Remarks: 
    Inscription translates as "not for ourselves alone but for all the world." The Twentieth Century Club was established as a club for women. The building was constructed in 1910, but was completely remodeled in 1929, at which time the brick facade was replaced by the present limestone exterior with Athena relief. The modeling was done by John Donnelly & Company of New York and the Reed Powers Cutstone Company of Bedford, Indiana.
