Abstract sculpture of a large sea gull made of laminated redwood painted a creamy white. The sea gull's proper right wing is outstretched and points in the direction of the water. Its head is turned in the same direction. The sculpture sits on a round brick base filled with flowers and surrounded by a low iron fence.

A nearby plaque indicates the sculpture was commissioned as a public arts project. Cost of the sculpture was $2,800. In 1993 the sculpture was moved from its former location at City Hall to its present location at the Ferry Terminal. IAS files contain copy of the commissioning contract.
