Two dogs stand, each wearing a collar with a chain attached to the front. The dogs are mirror images of each other. They are set on either side of the wooden porch extensions that flank the stairs to a house.

The sculptures were cast from the originals donated by the Pillot family and the River Oaks Garden Club. It's unknown if Janes Kirtland & Co. fabricated the originals or these reproductions. The casting was made possible through the Wortham Foundation. The Pillot house was built in 1868.
