Remarks:
The installation of this work has not been completed. The artist's plan for the figures includes attaching them to a column rising from a parabolic dish. When hit by the sun, the column will "disappear" and create the illusion that the figures are floating. In 1984 the artist obtained a Weldon Spring grant for $14,800 and began work on the sculpture, but he died in 1986 before it could be completed. Another grant was obtained by Mike Ruble from the Student Fee Capital Improvement Fund to complete the installation. In 1987 the High Point Welding Company completed the unfinished joints and Mike Ruble worked the surface to blend the welds. After this work was completed, the project stalled due to the lack of a location side. In 1993 a site was chosen for the sculpture on the lawn in front of the Fine Arts Building, but it was not installed as planned.
