    Description: 
    Three overlapping sheets of plexiglass are mounted with copper sheeting and hardwood studs. The copper frames are three arches. The plexiglass is painted with acrylic paints. The archway theme symbolizes doorways or windows of learning.

    The piece was funded with a $3,000 grant, and an aditional $1,000 was needed for its installation. Inscription on nearby plaque reads: ARCHWAYS/John E. Mazuzan III /Christopher M. Hurd/1989. The piece was originally designed for the H. O. Wheeler School through Burlington's Old North End Beautification Project.
