Fifteen high relief sculptures depict the condemnation, death and resurrection of Christ. Common elements on each piece include geographical details such as Asia Minor, Italy and Africa in the background and an altar or stage in the foreground on which each scene is depicted. The alter is supported by two round pillars and a scroll, representing Scripture.

Commissioned in 1986 by the Diocese of Juneau and funded with donations by Vera Carrigan and Mary Toner earmarked specifically for this project. The cost was $37,000. The stone structures in which the reliefs are installed were constructed in 1939 by Doc Holden. Plaster of Paris Stations were installed in these structures in 1966. In 1986, when the artist was asked to repair the plasters, he declined, citing their advanced deteriorated condition, and offered instead to create new Stations. Although there are traditionally fourteen Stations, the artist added a fifteenth to depict the Resurrection. This Station was installed in 1992 in a stone base constructed by local stone mason Greg Mallinger. The artist was also assisted by Peggy Chaplin, Mitchell Sherman and Terrea McKrill.
