Remarks:
The sculpture was originally sited at Forte Plaza, commissioned by the Plaza's builder and owner, John Forte. Forte Plaza was designed by architect Robert Camney and the sculpture was installed there just before the Plaza's opening in the latter part of 1973. Forte Plaza later became the 1401 Brickell Building, owned by the 1401 Brickell Holding Company. In 1989, the sculpture was donated to Dade County's Art in Public Works Program and relocated to its current site on Bay Pointe Drive. IAS files contain two articles from The Miami Herald: Aug. 31, 1973, pg. 3-E, and Feb. 10, 1974; and a related clipping from Business-Leader dated Sept. 17, 1973. IAS files also contain correspondence discussing the donation and relocation of the sculpture, dated Oct. 23, 1989 and Oct. 25, 1989.
