Inscription:  (Base front:) THE PEOPLE OF KANE COUNTY/DEDICATE THIS MONUMENT TO/THE MEMORY OF HER BRAVE/SOLDIERS AND SAILORS WHO/AT DIFFERENT PERIODS OF/THE NATIONS PERIL PROVED/THEIR PATRIOTISM BY THEIR/SERVICES SACRIFICES/AND SUFFERINGS. (And 22 plaques with names) (In concrete steps:) Constructed by W. Cummings - Geneva 1915 Founder's mark appears. Description:  A standing figure of a soldier holding a flag with both hands on his proper left side. He is flanked by a kneeling rifleman on his proper left side and a kneeling drummer on his proper right side. Two eagles with their wings spread flank the sides of the base.
