Remarks:
Louis J. Winston (1844-1918), a native of Natchez, was founder of the Woodmen of Union (WOU). Biographical information on Winston can be found in Black history (Natchez) Research files, Historic Natchez Foundation, 108 South Commerce Street, Natchez, Mississippi 39120. In the past, chlorox was used to clean marble base.
