    Description: 
    A freestanding concrete arch over a walkway. The arch is anchored to cantilevered concrete footings below grade. The arch slots and circular holes cut into it and is coated with a white sealer. The arch was made by pouring concrete into a wooden mold. PVC pipe was used to make the scalloped edges and circular holes in the arch.

    This piece was commissioned through a community development grant administered by the city of Jacksonville, and was chosen by a committee of local residents. IAS files contain a related article from Florida Times-Union (Jacksonville, FL), May 1, 1984, pg. D-1, which includes an interview with the artist and discusses how he created the piece. For a related article see Concrete International 8 (June 1986): pg. 34. The sculpture is part of a series of works by various artists installed at new senior centers throughout Jacksonville.
