    Description: 
    Colossal metal globe sits atop the west tower of a building. On top of the east tower is a colossal metal telescope. The metal sculptures are painted.

    Formerly located Knightstown Academy, Knightstown, Indiana 1876-1986.
    Remarks: 
    The sculpture is located atop the former Knightstown Academy building, nominated for the National Register of Historic Places. The building, part of the Charles A. Beard Memorial School Corporation, was in use until 1986. At that time, the Corporation nominally passed ownership of the building to Historic Knightstown, Inc., which then sold the building to Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana. The building was later renovated into senior citizen apartments. IAS files contain copy of related article from The Indiana Preservationist, No. 4, 1986.
