Description:
A two component sculpture placed atop a roughly poured concrete base. One component of the sculpture consists of a metal "windwagon" with big spoked wheels and a large sail being driven by a seated portrait of Sam Peppard. He wears a full brimmed hat and billowing cape. The front face of the wagon has an oval American eagle emblem attached to it. The front of the wagon is tilted upward. The wagon is embedded in a concrete tornado funnel which rises up out of the concrete base.

Formerly in the collection of Barker, Roger & Louise, Oskaloosa, Kansas
Remarks:
The sculpture was commissioned by Roger and Louise Barker to commemorate Sam Peppard, an early Kansan who traveled the prairies in a wind-powered vehicle. The sculpture was originally located in their yard. In 1990, after Roger's death, the sculpture was donated by his daughter to the Jefferson County Historical Society. The current site of the sculpture, Jefferson Town, is a historical complex. Sam Harvey, helped Frazier with the molding and installation process at its original location.
