TO COMMEMORATE THAT EVENT THE SCHOOLCHILDREN/OF NEW IBERIA AND THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION BICENTENNIAL/COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF NEW IBERIA AND THE STATE/OF LOUISIANA HAVE ERECTED THIS MEMORIAL./1976 (Two more metal plaques are set on the front of the base to either side of the central plaque)
