On the right side of the base is the emblem of the 95th Bomb Group and on the left side of the base is an engraving of a B-17 aircraft. Remarks:
The memorial is dedicated to the members of the 95th Bomb Group (H) and attached units that fought victoriously during World War II. The bronze sphere is symbolic of the area in which the 95th Bomb Group lived and fought. The black granite that makes up the base is a reminder of the black days of hardship that were endured during the war, as well as a reminder of those servicemen who lost their lives. IAS files contain a transcription of text on base plaques.
