2 dogs. Each: approx. 2 x 1 x 3 1/2 ft.

Two identical cast iron life sized statues of dalmation dogs. Each has its proper left front leg forward, head erect and tail straight out, curling slightly upward. They are painted white with black spots and black ears.

CIRCA 1835/GIVEN TO THE BENNINGTON MUSEUM,/1986, IN MEMORY OF/PELEG AND MOLLIE MATTESON/LONG TIME RESIDENTS OF BENNINGTON/TIRELESS COLLECTORS OF ANTIQUES AND VERMONTIANA/ON WHOSE LAWN THESE DOGS STOOD FOR FIFTY YEARS.
